Membership at CBC

We're so excited that you are interested in learning more about CBC, and we would love for you to consider joining our family!

At CBC, we believe that every Christian should join a local church. The Scriptures clearly teach that all who belong to Christ by faith also belong to his family and his body, the church (1 Cor 13:13; Eph 1:22–23; 4:11–15; Col 1:18; Heb 10:24–25). The Christian life is lived out properly in the context of this community, and membership is the shorthand way we describe the relationship between a Christian and the local church where they belong, gather, serve, and receive care and oversight. To communicate the significance of both the privileges and responsibilities of church membership, we ask prospective members to go through a 3-step membership process (explained further below).

Membership Process

Our membership process includes three components: 1) attending a new members class, 2) participating in a membership interview with an elder, and 3) receiving affirmation from the CBC congregation.

Our prospective members class is offered on multiple occasions throughout the year (typically a Friday evening or Saturday morning), and covers key topics like our beliefs, vision, and distinctives at CBC, as well as the meaning, significance, and responsibilities of church membership.
